Omar Salem, D.M.D.
Dr. Salem received his Doctoral of Dental Medicine from Tufts University. In 1999 he completed a residency in Advanced Education of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics as well as earning a Masters Degree in Oral Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Salem then completed a fellowship at the University of Buffalo dealing with the management of craniofacial facial disorders with the focus on cleft lip and palate patients.
While in orthodontic residency, Dr. Salem received the Award of Excellent Scholarly Achievement from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Salem became a Diplomate of The American Board of Orthodontics – Board Certified – in June 2007.
Since graduation from the orthodontic residency, Dr. Salem has been involved in academia. He served on the faculty body at the Department of Orthodontics at Buffalo University, then moved to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he became the director of the Pre-Doctoral Orthodontic Program until 2005.
In addition to private practice and teaching, Dr. Salem has published numerous scientific papers in dental and medical journals dealing with the advancement of the orthodontics research, science and technique. In 2005, Dr. Salem developed a technique to enable tooth movement in missing teeth region that was published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics.
Dr. Salem resides in Canton, MA with his wife Zeina and their two little boys. While not at work, Dr. Salem enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include chess, tennis, gourmet cooking, traveling with his family and watching Red Sox games.
